The Small Business Clinic is a place where you can come to explore the idea of starting a new business or to get some tips on how to take it to the next level. You will receive general business principles that can assist you to take those steps you have always wanted to and didn’t know how.

It will help you answer those initial questions when starting a new business, for instance:

At the Small Business Clinic, you will receive assistance in the following areas:

• CLARITY by developing a plan to show you the step by step needed for a profitable business

• RED FLAGS by alerting you of the possible dangers in front of you.

• SIMPLICITY by focusing on the most important points at every single step

• NETWORKING by looking into business issues together with your local business community.

As we are:

• Developing Business Plans and/or Financial Plans and understand their importance and purpose.

• Review and update of your current plans

• Assistance with writing a CV

Sessions

The Small Business Clinic will run sessions on first Mondays of the month in the evening around a nice cup of coffee.

These meetings are a great opportunity for networking and getting to know other business owners in the community.

The sessions will be divided into two parts of about 45 minutes each with a break in between.

Session One: During this session we will explore and answer any questions and issues participants may bring. We’ll also provide suggestions on how to work them out.

Session Two: After a brief coffee break, a specific topic may be discussed by a professional in a particular business subject where they will share their knowledge and tips.

Some of the business topics that will be considered are:

• The importance of having/developing a business plan and financial plan

• Legislative and Insurance requirements

• Operational issues

• Marketing / social networking

• Business structures

Opportunities will be provided for you to send questions beforehand so that the organisers can come prepared to answer all your questions prior to the sessions. You have the freedom to participate as much as you would like in this process.

The mission of MBC Small Business Clinic is to support businesses within the local community and so this service will be free of charge.

Who will be running this course?

MBC is a local Baptist Church located in the heart of Matraville. It has been involved in serving the community through providing playgroups for mothers and fathers, Kids Club, Seniors Cafe and even a Spanish fellowship group.

MBC has also being helping a variety of charities and missionary organisations around the world for the past 12 years. We have been involved on fundraising events for catastrophic events around Australia like bushfires, floods, etc. in association with other Charity Organisations like “Buy a Bale”, “Baptist World Aid” and others. We also support the Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea and Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer organisation on yearly basis.

Julian Raimundo and his wife have been serving as Pastors of MBC since 2009. Julian has also been involved in teaching and mentoring business start-ups for over 20 years under the Government funded program NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme). He continues working in this field as a Senior Consultant of the NEIS program under APM Employment Services.

He has also owned a private practice in the area of Psychotherapy, created a professional resources hub in mental health with specialised books and seminars, had an import and export business, and had created his own Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Julian has been blessed with having extensive experience and knowledge in different business fields and it is his passion to share this knowledge and experience with whoever would like to learn the ABC of starting and/or running a business.
